As a result of the coronavirus lockdown, all choir events have been cancelled. In the meantime the choir meets regularly using Zoom
Thirty nine members of the choir will sing at the annual South West Choir Convention at St George’s, Brandon Hill, Bristol on 1st March 2010. Final details for participants are in the Members Area
The first choir session of 2020 will have a Swedish theme. We will be joined by Kajsa Norrby who leads a Natural Voice choir in Sweden. She will teach us some Swedish songs. In the break we will be able to enjoy some Swedish biscuits and treats. Let’s have a full turn-out to start our New Year of singing together!
At the end of the term, the choir holds an informal concert for family and friends to perform the new songs they have learned during the term. This year the Choir will be performing at The Arts Centre.
The Choir is very pleased to have been invited to take part in the Dunster by Candlelight Christmas celebration and will be performing twice.
The choir has been invited to sing at this event at Dillington House near Ilminster on Sunday 1st December and will be performing at 12.30pm
The concert will take place at 7.30pm in Edgar Hall, Somerton when a number of Somerset based community choirs will perform. In addition to Blackdown Community Choir, there will be choirs from Bridgwater, Chard, Martock, Somerton and Taunton showcasing their own songs as well as a grand finale when all the choirs will perform together. All proceeds will be donated to St Margaret’s Hospice.
The choir has been invited to perform at Sheppys Apple Day. We will be performing at 2 p.m. until 3pm. More information to follow.
There will be a concert and buffet at the Baptist Church for the families and friends of choir members when we will sing all the songs we have learned this year. There will be a collection for charity.
The choir has been asked to contribute to this event and will be singing in the courtyard of the Museum of Somerset between 12noon and 12.30pm. Come and join us!

Claire Stronach will be leading a Sing and Stroll event on Sunday 19th May from 2-4pm starting from Corfe Village Hall. Last year Claire led a similar walk at Otterford Lakes which was enjoyed by all who took part. There are photos of this on the Gallery page. Booking is essential.
